Hi, my name is Daria.

I am a multimedia journalist, writer and educator. Originally from Moscow, Russia, I have been residing in Barcelona for almost a decade.

I teach communication and media, make podcasts, appear on TV, and write articles for various media outlets. A Jacqueline of many trades!

And thus, this website exists: here you can find my articles and podcasts, request my workshops or seminars, and even book a walk around Barcelona in the modest company of me!

Welcome, I am happy to see you!

I released my first podcast - Patriarchy, burn! - in 2022. It was in Russian, and quickly rose to being №1 podcast in Russia in the "philosophy" category.

The other two projects “under construction” are:

  • Daria and Oliver talk about things. Just a fun conversational podcast where my partner, a historian, and I chat about things we find interesting.

  • Aquí estamos. A narrative journalism podcast in Spanish. That is all I can share right now!

I am transitioning from written words to sound. Two more podcasts are already in progress, one in English and the other in Spanish.

I collaborate with Els Matins, a morning news programme on the Catalan channel TV3, and publish articles, case studies and other works in English and Spanish.

In this section you can find links and learn more about my journalist work and writing.

being interviewed

I give public talks and lectures, participate in round tables and conferences. My areas are communication, active learning, feminism and human rights, politics (specifically Russia), and languages.

In 2022 I began doing stand-up as well, performing in a few Barcelona shows in Russian and English.

I am a professor at Geneva Business School, Barcelona campus. It is a very international school, and in one classroom we often have people from a dozen different countries.

I conduct courses on Bachelor and Master levels. My subjects are communication, social media, information skills, and research fundamentals.

I supervise student theses and impart workshops on communication for adult professionals.

I have lived in Barcelona for so long and have learned about it so much that it would be weird not to show people around. Currently I have three individual walks you can book and enjoy:

  • The Gothic quarter and the lost empire;

  • Antoni Gaudí and Catalan modernism;

  • Gracia neighbourhood and the Catalan independence movement.

If you want more - you can request a tailor-made walk, an experience designed specially for you.
